We are currently seeking an experienced Accountant who will be responsible for day-to-day General Ledger Accounting and financial reporting for several companies. This is a hands-on position that requires solid understanding of accounting policies, procedures and skills. Excellent opportunity.

Duties:

Summary:

The Business Manager supervises the financial operations and asset management of Coral Gables Congregational Church (“CGCC”) consistent with generally accepted accounting principles, sound internal controls and financial management practices, and approved budgets of CGCC, in accordance with established mission, policies, and procedures of CGCC and in consultation with related boards and committees.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the CGCC accounting office and supervise the daily accounting/bookkeeping activities performed by other members of the accounting department.

• Ensure that CGCC complies with various reporting requirements of grantors and donors.

• Evaluate organizational systems and processes, recommend cost effective operating procedures, and create and implement policies and procedures.

• Supervise CGCC’s purchasing and contracting procedures to ensure the most economical use of CGCC funds for supplies and services.

• Supervise the maintenance of office equipment, computer & phone systems, any other technology, and other fixed assets.

Experience and Qualification Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

• More than five years of accounting experience (non profit and managerial experience a strong positive).

• Highly professional computer skills in Word, Excel, Access, and accounting software.

• Ability to organize own work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines, exercise professional judgment, and make sound decisions.
